How colon hydrotherapy helped me with digestive complaints

When I was in first grade, a classmate walked in on me while I was trying to use the restroom. For whatever reason, I didn’t lock the door to the stall, and she just flung the door wide open. I was humiliated and vowed never to use a public restroom again.

So each day I would hold my urine and bowel movements until I arrived home. I trained my body to be constipated. I did not want to poop. Ever.

At this young age, I didn’t realize the realities of what I was doing to my body. Upon puberty, I realized that being bloated was not comfortable. I became a vegetarian, but at this point in my life was not at all a healthy vegetarian.

For college, I moved from small-town Missouri to a large city. I was away from my family, and all things familiar for the first time. My digestive system really took a hit from what I now know was a culture shock. I would go for weeks on end extremely constipated, to extreme diarrhea. My central nervous system was always in a state of anxiety.

My digestion began to affect my everyday life interfering with class, work, and my social life.

As a child, my family didn’t place a lot of emphasis on health or nutrition. Struggling with my digestion issues, I began to research healthy eating in an attempt to regain control of my body and quality of life.

Stress was a huge part of the reason why my digestion suffered. Eating mostly processed foods with little to no nutritional value was another. I did not drink any water either but fueled my body with coffee and Diet Dr. Pepper.

On my personal journey to health, I learned how to cook. I credit cooking my own food as one of the most important lifestyle changes I made on my quest for digestive freedom. I also learned the importance and necessity of drinking water. And I looked within my mind, body, and soul for energy. Energy to move my physical body and exercise. To have a better quality of sleep to feel more rested. And the energy that reinforced positive mental health.

During my research to live a holistic lifestyle, I found colonics.

After my first colonic, I was amazed at how well I was able to sleep through the night. Up until this point, I had a love-hate relationship with sleep, frequently experiencing sleep paralysis, (which is extremely scary if you have never experienced it.) I felt rested the next morning, and had so much energy! I was significantly less bloated and felt like I was ready to clean my house from top to bottom.

I had an easy bowel movement! For me, bowel movements were always a straining endeavor.

My colon hydrotherapist suggested I do three treatments close together to experience the most benefits. By the end of the treatments, I was surprised to find that my sugar cravings disappeared. Of course, I could still have some chocolate if I wanted, but the desperate need for chocolate wasn’t there. I was in control of the foods I ate and wanted to eat, and sugar cravings no longer had a hold over me.

Colonics changed my life so much that I decided to pursue a career in the holistic health field so that I can share my story with people who are also trying to manage their digestive health.

One of my main priorities as a colon hydrotherapist is normalizing digestive health conversations. I literally trained my body to be constipated as a small child because I was so embarrassed to talk about poop. Digestive complaints are one of the most common reasons why someone will schedule an appointment with their doctor.

Colonics changed my life in such a positive way, physically, emotionally, and energetically.

I had a client recently tell me, “The funny thing about (gut health) is that no one ever talks about how truly good it feels to poop!”

And I 100 percent agree with them. You don’t know how bad you feel sometimes until you feel really good.

Colon hydrotherapy has helped me on my journey to wellness, and I would be honored to help guide you on your journey as well.

Namaste.
